Clergy welcomes Mahama’s call to check politicians

16018121_295The Riches Bible College and Clergy Council Worldwide has said, the call by President Mahama on the Clergy to keep politicians in check, is in the right direction.

According to the council, politicians in Ghana must be advised and directed whenever they go wrong to avert chaos and division in the country.

The Chancellor of the Council, Rev. Dr. Richard Offei in an interview with Starr News said Politicians must not be allowed to take the country into ransom.

He said this when the council conferred on the Municipal Chief Executive for East Akyem in the Eastern Region, Hon. Simon Peter Asirifi a Honorary Doctorate degree in Humanity and Leadership.

Riches Bible College and Clergy Council Worldwide, RBCCC, is a recognised clergy Institution affiliated to many International Christian Bodies.

At a colourful ceremony held in Kibi, the Chancellor of RBCCC, Rev. Dr. Richard Offei explained that the honour was conferred on the MCE based on a report by a monitoring team.

He said, the MCE has exhibited selfless leadership in his line of duty and worked hard to improve the lives of the people.

The MCE since becoming the administrative head of the municipality has ensured judicious use of resources for the development of the area.

He sometimes boards a commercial vehicle (trotro) to work, goes to the doorstep of the residents to interact with them to note some pressing issues for redress.

At the political front, Hon. Asirifi has been described as a fantastic politician who is loved by all political parties in the municipality. He has brought harmony to the political landscape in the two constituencies in the municipality.

The NPP Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Hon. Atta Akyea has described the MCE the “best MCE ever seen in Ghana”.

The Chancellor of RBCCC urged politicians to follow the footsteps of the MCE in order to bring development and intensify unity in the country.
