The clash occurred after the youth addressed a news conference accusing the military of encroaching on their lands without compensation.
Adom TV’s Prince Owusu who witnessed the scene said, the youth were taking the media to the encroached lands when they were ambushed by over 30 armed soldiers at Palm wine junction, a suburb in La.
Their mission, he noted, was to prevent the youth from showing the media the lands of the La stool taken over by the military.
Prince Owusu added that, the youth who tried to cross the barrier were forcibly stopped by the armed soldiers.
But leader of the La youth, Augustine Nii Amoah said they will not be intimidated by the actions of the military.
“The lands are for the La people so the soldiers cannot intimidate us. Its either they pay compensation or they give our lands back,” he fumed.
Augustine Nii Amoah said their next line of action will be to demonstrate against the Military Command if no action is taken.
